After-birth abortion: why should the baby live?

Here is an article that I was made aware of today.  I have included the abstract and the conclusion to show the jist of the article (the link to the article will be some where below).

ABSTRACT
Abortion is largely accepted even for reasons that do not have anything to do with the fetus’ health. By showing that (1) both fetuses and newborns do not have the same moral status as actual persons, (2) the fact that both are potential persons is morally irrelevant and (3) adoption is not always in the best interest of actual people, the authors argue that what we call ‘after-birth abortion’ (killing a newborn) should be permissible in all the cases where abortion is, including cases where the newborn is not disabled.

CONCLUSIONS
If criteria such as the costs (social, psychological, economic) for the potential parents are good enough reasons for having an abortion even when the fetus is healthy, if the moral status of the newborn is the same as that of the infant and if neither has any moral value by virtue of being a potential person, then the same reasons which justify abortion should also justify the killing of the potential person when it is at the stage of a newborn.
Two considerations need to be added.
First, we do not put forward any claim about the moment at which after-birth abortion would no longer be permissible, and we do not think that in fact more than a few days would be necessary for doctors to detect any abnormality in the child. In cases where the after-birth abortion were requested for non- medical reasons, we do not suggest any threshold, as it depends on the neurological development of newborns, which is something neurologists and psychologists would be able to assess.
Second, we do not claim that after-birth abortions are good alternatives to abortion. Abortions at an early stage are the best option, for both psychological and physical reasons. However, if a disease has not been detected during the pregnancy, if some- thing went wrong during the delivery, or if economical, social or psychological circumstances change such that taking care of the offspring becomes an unbearable burden on someone, then people should be given the chance of not being forced to do something they cannot afford.

This is a demonstration of the sad sin nature of mankind.  This is legal in areas of the world...  So when talking to people please be aware of these things so that you have this defense in mind when they claim it could never get to this point.

The Other Holocaust...

I would like to encourage you to read a recent post done by Tony Miano with Living Waters at the onthebox.us blog. I found it to be very well done and a sobering reminder of the state of not only this country but the world today...

Here is an article on the "Day of Silence" April 13 (?)... it is a day where the gay community request that students take a vow of silence for a period of time during school (and as far as I understand is supported by the schools but don't quote me on that). Watch the video. The article and the video really bring home the mixed up views of the sinners shows how blind they really are to their own actions...

And as a reminder to any Christians that may be reading this, remember what we are commanded to do and how we are to do it:

2 Timothy 4:2
2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.
ESV

2 Timothy 4:2
2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
KJV

Praise God, I am starting to feel the fire within me be rekindled... I know I have been slaking in my evangelism/proselytizing...

On a side note... I don't normally follow these sort of events HOWEVER, I have to thank, give a "job well done," or rather offer up an AMEN to Miss California (Carrie Prejean) for having the faith in God to give the answer that she did and is sticking to during and since Sunday's pageant.
I will add that I (of course) know nothing of her actual beliefs or the doctrine that she follows aside from what is reported in these articles.
